The infamous "camera" was never a source of fun, growing up in a large family. It was dragged out every holiday and special occasion in an attempt to 'frame' our growth. Despite our father's effort, we stood with stiff poses and forced smiles that, believe it or not, often resembled frowns.

As I grew older, my interest in photography took on a whole new level. The human condition became my focus and my passion. A glance. A look. The dance of life. I observed the people around me as they interact with one another, unabashed and unhindered by the outside world. They became a part of the brief moment in time that I wanted to remember for eternity. I was amazed. Thus, the passion for the art of photography was born.

Julie Wu Photography grew from a desire to capture people and landscapes in its natural environment; untouched and never posed.
